
Cottage Grove, Tenn.—At its annual Firefighters Recognition Dinner this week, the Cottage Grove Volunteer Fire Department honored the achievements of the group and individual firefighters.
Fire Chief John Weiher recognized Firefighters of the Year Blake Stewart and Luke McDade and Officer of the Year Michael Stewart.
Captain Larry Niemi said McDade has become a certified trainer for the class all volunteers are required to take and Niemi praised McDade for his endeavor. Firefighter Michael Aldridge was honored for the over 200 duty hours he contributed and Stewart was recognized for over 100 duty hours.
The banquet was held at Carmack’s Fish Barn.
