Paris, Tenn.–A Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy was able to revive a person who had suffered an overdose Tuesday by using Narcan that all deputies carry with them.
Cpl. Stacey Bostwick was assisting the Henry Co. EMS crew which was on a call of a need for CPR at a residence on Edgar Cemetery Road. Captain Adam Jenkins said the EMS crew was advised on route that it was a possible heroin overdose.
Upon arrival, Bostwick applied the Narcan dose he was carrying and helped the subject begin breathing again.
Paramedics gave the person another dosage at the scene and the patient was able to start talking. He was transported to Henry Co. Medical Center by ambulance.
Narcan is a nasal spray that can help reverse Opioid overdoses.
