Man Deported Last Year Arrested For Criminal Impersonation In UC

Union City, Tenn.—Union City Police arrested a man Friday for public intoxication who had been deported by ICE to Guatemala in July of 2018.
Officers were called to the Royal Palace on a report of a man possibly being intoxicated. According to the police report, officers had difficulty getting an accurate identification from the man.
Sgt. Simmons and Cpl. Lovell did a pat down on him because of him not following instructions to keep his hands out of his pockets to check for weapons. Officers recovered a wallet with a Photo ID card inside.
According to the report, the man told them the last name on the ID card but was not able to produce the first name or address on the card. Police ran the number on the ID card but it didn’t come back to anyone, officers said in the report.
“We then asked him his real name and he told us Fransico Pastor. We asked for a date of birth and he said he did not know his date of birth. He did say that he worked at Los Portales washing dishes. Ptl. Gray did come on scene to assist with the language barrier. He was unable to get him to produce a date of birth. At that time, we did call Maria at Juvenile Court to have her translate for us and she was also unable to get a date of birth, but she did get an address,” according to the report.
He was arrested on a charge of criminal impersonation. According to the report, “Once at the jail, he was immediately recognized for being there before. They tried to get him to tell them his name to which he told them Fransico Pastor. They looked in their system and did not find him. He then told them Omar, to which they still did not find him. He did eventually give a date of birth and we were able to find him in the system that way. The name we got from the intake sheet was Fransico Pastor Hernandez. I did get his intake sheet printed out for photo verification.”
Officers asked him how he got back to the U.S. so quickly after being deported and he stated his family has connections, according to the report.
