Paris, Tenn.–The New Year begins with the Paris-Henry Co. Arts Council’s 3rd Annual Young Artist Workshops on four Saturdays in January and February. Free classes are available in drawing, painting, pottery, jewelry making and more on January 26 and February 2 and 9, for kindergarteners through high school-age students. Some of the young artists who take the classes may want to enter their art in the Young Artist Showcase, open to all ages through high school, whether or not they participated in the workshops, and scheduled for February 17 through March 15. The opening reception is February 17, 2-4 p.m. Entry is free, works will be judged by professional judges, and there are monetary awards in each category.
