Two Men Arrested For Dyersburg Rape

Dyersburg, Tenn.—Two men are in jail following a sexual assault in Dyersburg.
Dyersburg Police responded to the West Tennessee Healthcare in reference to a sexual assault victim needing treatment.
The victim, a 20 year old Dyer County woman reported to police that she had been raped by two Hispanic males earlier on January 14 at the suspect’s apartment located at 100 Marr Street, Dyersburg. The victim reported that the suspects identified as Javier Nava Hernandez, 312 Wynn Street, Tiptonville, and Jose Luis Rubio-Servin, 100 Marr Street, Apartment 30, Dyersburg, were acquaintances.
Warrants were issued through Dyersburg City Court on both men for rape following the interviews by Dyersburg Police detectives.
According to the press release, during the interview, both Hernandez and Rubio-Servin, told detectives that they were in the United States illegally. On Friday, January 18, Rubio-Servin was taken into custody at his place of employment, El Patio Restaurant, Dyersburg, by the Dyersburg Police Department. Hernandez was taken into custody by the Lake County Sheriff’s Department at his place of employment, El-Potrillo, Tiptonville also on Friday.
Dyersburg Police notified the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement of the men’s claim of being in the Country illegally, and their arrests.
Both men are being held at the Dyer County Justice Complex pending an appearance in Dyersburg City Court, Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at 4:00 p.m.
