
Nashville, Tenn.—Dr. Lisa Piercy of Trenton has been named Commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Health. Dr. Piercy is an MBA graduate of Bethel University in McKenzie.
Dr. Piercy is a board-certified child abuse pediatrician and Vice President of West Tennessee Healthcare.
She is a graduate of David Lipscomb University, with a medical degree from East Tennessee State.
The Tennessee Medical Association also sent a statement, applauding Lee’s choice.
“Gov.-Elect Bill Lee made a great choice in appointing a physician leader with a range of experience in private practice and health care administration at one of the largest independent hospital systems in the state,” the TMA statement read. “Dr. Piercey’s deep Tennessee roots, clinical and business acumen make her uniquely qualified to lead the governor-elect’s effort to make Tennessee a healthier place to live, work and play.”
Lee will be inaugurated as Tennessee’s 50th governor on Saturday in Nashville
