Dover, Tenn.—At arraignments this morning, the man who led hundreds of law officers on a 14-day manhunt in Stewart and Montgomery Counties and the couple who are charged with aiding him, all pleaded not guilty. The arraignments were held in Stewart Co. Circuit Court Monday morning.
Kirby Wallace pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, felony murder, attempted first-degree murder and aggravated arson.
The manhunt gained national attention after two people were killed in each county, along with a string of other crimes. Wallace was apprehended in a wooded area of Stewart Co. by Henry Co. Sheriff Monte Belew and Cpl. Stacey Bostwick and his K9 Rowdy.
The two people charged with accessory after the fact charges appeared for their first time in court after being indicted last week. Derek Summers and Mindy Harris are charged with aiding Wallace during the manhunt.
Family members of victims were in court, as they have been for all of Wallace’s appearances.
