Urgent Need For Blood For West Tennessee Patients

LIFELINE Blood Services is asking for all O positive and O negative blood donors to give blood

now. “We had specific patients to use large amounts  of blood last week,” said Tonya Johnson, Director

of Community Services with LIFELINE Blood Services.  “We are told that this increased

need for blood transfusions will continue into this week,” she explained.

All blood donors who are O positive and O negative are urged to come to the blood center in Jackson or to give blood at any of the several bloodmobile visits scheduled for our area as soon as possible.

The Jackson office of LIFELINE Blood Services is located at 183 Sterling Farms Drive and is open

Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. You can find out if you  are eligible to give blood by

calling 731-427-4431. “If you do not know your blood type, this would be a great time to give blood.

There is a very good chance that you are type O,” Johnson added .

bloodmobiles visit the following communities this week:
