Lindsay Frilling Appointed To State Chamber Of Commerce Board

Union City, Tenn.—Lindsay Frilling, CEO for the Obion County Joint Economic Development Council, has been named to the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce board of directors. Frilling said, “I am honored to be selected and look forward to humbling serving on the board. Cohesion across the state is key to strengthening and growing our economy. Being a native of Northwest Tennessee, my goal is to make sure the rural areas have a strong voice while learning best practices from colleagues across the state.”
Frilling has been CEO of the Obion Co. Joint Economic Development Council since 2009.
The Tennessee Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced 10 new appointments to its 54-member board of directors Thursday. The appointments represent all three grand divisions and are appointed for a three-year term.
Frilling has been CEO of the Obion Co. Joint Economic Development Council since 2009. Before that, she was the Director of Marketing and Special Events for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Tennessee in Union City and is also the former Customer Service Supervisor for Midwest-CBK.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a Master of Business Administration from UTM.
 
Frilling is a graduate of TN Chamber Institute and US Chamber Institute for Organization Management and earned her Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation from the International Economic Development Council.
 
As an active member of Tennessee Chamber of Commerce Executives, Tennessee Economic Partnership, and Tennessee Economic Development Council, Frilling currently serves on the board of directors for all three organizations and was chosen for the 2016 SEDC Chairman’s Award.  She looks forward to serving as President of the TN Chamber of Commerce Executives in 2019.
 
Since 2011, Mrs. Frilling has facilitated the creation of nearly 1,000 new jobs and $180 million in capital investment in a county with a population less than 32,000.
 
Lindsay spearheaded the effort to make the Northwest Tennessee Regional Industrial Center a Select Tennessee Certified Site and participated in tourism efforts that have resulted in 250,000 businesses, families and individuals visiting Discovery Park of America annually.
 
She is a recently completed Delta Leadership Institute and Complete Tennessee Leadership Institute member.  Lindsay is a graduate of TVA Rural Economic Development Leadership, WestStar Leadership, and Adult Leadership Obion County.  As a community volunteer, Lindsay dedicates time to Union City Rotary Club, Discovery Park of America, Adult Leadership Obion County, Union City J’Cettes, Chimes for Charity, and the Boys and Girls Club.  She has held several board positions for these organizations including President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
 
In 2015, she was named as one of West Tennessee’s Up and Coming Top Forty Under 40.
 
Lindsay is married to Eric Frilling, co-owner of Ken-Tenn Wireless in Union City.  Ken-Tenn Wireless is an internet service provider that makes much needed broadband access available to our rural areas on Northwest Tennessee and Southwest Kentucky.  Eric and Lindsay have two children, Alli Kate and Houston.
