Hickman, Ky.—Due to floodwaters, the Dorena-Hickman Ferry has halted service until further notice.
The ferry was shut down Wednesday and is expected to remain closed for several days, depending on rain amounts. The captain of the Dorena-Hickman Ferry told WENK/WTPR Thursday morning that the five-day forecast shows the ferry will be closed at least that long. But, he said, “I hate to put a definite date on it. We will update the Facebook page as soon as we know.”
The Dorena-Hickman Ferry connects Hickman, Ky., and Dorena, Missouri, and provides transportation for many people who work and live on either side of the Mississippi.
