Troy Resident Commissioned As U.S. Army Officer

Martin, Tenn.–Laina Roberson of Troy, received a commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army during a ceremony Dec. 14 at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Roberson graduated from Obion County Central High School in 2014 and earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UT Martin during commencement exercises Dec. 15. She enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2016 and has served with the Tennessee National Guard 190^th Engineering Company in McKenzie. Her first duty assignment as a commissioned officer will be at the Military Intelligence Basic Officer Leaders Course at Ft. Huachuca, Arizona. She is the daughter of Guy and Cathy Roberson.
