$40M Hemp Processing Facility To Locate In Graves County; Create 80 Jobs

Hickory, Ky.–“It’s a great day for Graves County,” said Rep. James Comer today during the announcement of a new $40 million GenCanna hemp processing facility in Hickory.
The new processing facility for GenCanna Global USA will ad 80 full-time jobs. It will be an 100,000-square-foot facility that will include drying, storage, extraction and processing operations.
GenCanna President Steve Bevan said location of the new facility in Congressman James Comer’s district is positive and said company officials spoke to area farmers before deciding on the location. At least two other sites in other areas of Kentucky were also looked at.
Bevan said Comer’s actions as Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner from 2012 to 2016 are the reason that the company has located in Kentucky.
