Choral Director Reportedly Dismissed Amid Ongoing Investigation

Paris, Tenn.—Henry Co. Sheriff Monte Belew confirmed that an investigation of former High School Choral Music Director Blair Chadwick is ongoing by the sheriff’s department.
“We are conducting an investigation into the situation at this time,” Belew told WENK/WTPR on Wednesday, “but no criminal acts have been uncovered. But the investigation is continuing.”
Chadwick reportedly was dismissed due to ‘inappropriate’ communication with students.
Director of Schools Dr. Brian Norton earlier told WENK/WTPR he could not discuss the matter. “This is a personnel matter—-the only thing I can tell you is that allegations were made to me about an employee and an investigation is ongoing. I can’t discuss an investigation of any employee,” he said.
Chadwick had been a long-time employee, mostly notably directing the Henry Co. High School Madrigals.
The Madrigals have been making several appearances without a faculty director over the past week, with students handling the direction of the group. Rev. Kenneth Humphreys, who was instrumental in the formation of the Madrigals, has been filling in over recent days.
