Paris, Tenn.—Henry Co. Sheriff’s deputies engaged in another high-speed chase Tuesday night, this time leading to the arrest of a Big Sandy man on numerous charges.
Tony Reed Jr., age 22, of Bain Road Extended, is being held in the Henry Co. Jail on $17,500 bond following his arrest for evading arrest, reckless endangerment, driving on a revoked license, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to appear on a separate warrant.
According to the report, Deputy Sgt. Blake Jenkins was stationed on Hwy. 69 when a car driven by Reed drove by at a speed of 103 mph, turning onto Mays Bridge Rd.
Jenkins began pursuit of Reed, turning on his lights and sirens. Reed then turned down Manleyville Road, then onto Hwy. 641 and made a U-turn, almost hitting Jenkins’ patrol vehicle in the process.
Lt. Clyde Sulcer had joined the pursuit and performed a maneuver causing Reed’s car to turn sideways and ended the pursuit.
A search of the vehicle produced a container of marijuana ‘shake’ and baggies.
