Union City, Tenn.–Members of Tornado RISE at both UC Middle and High School decorated the one-room school house for Christmas at Discovery Park of America Tuesday. The one-room school house has a permanent home at Discovery Park. It was built around 1890 and is believed to be one of the last of its kind in Obion County.
It marked the third year that Tornado RISE students have provided decorations for the school house on the DPA campus.
Students worked in their classrooms to make the ornaments. The decorations are made from items and materials that resemble the 1800s time period.
Santa Claus helped them decorate Tuesday, and Mrs. Claus read a story and told them of how students would spend their time in the little school house long ago during Christmas.
The students also enjoyed hot chocolate and homemade Christmas sugar cookies.
