Huntingdon, Tenn.–Jason Isbell has fast become a favorite at The Dixie Carter Performing Arts Center in Huntingdon. here in West Tennessee. With another sold out show, it’s hard to argue with Isbell’s growing fan base in west Tennessee.
This is the second year in a row that Isbell has been a late addition to The Dixie’s fall concert series lineup with a highly sought after show that managed to sell out in less than 4 hours. This December 7th at 8 PM, Jason Isbell will once again play his honest, sometimes raw acoustic sets to a sold-out audience in The Dixie’s intimate Hal Holbrook Theatre.
It’s obvious Jason Isbell’s music strikes a deep chord with his fans. It’s smart. It’s relatable. And his fans get it. They connect with his authenticity, his rootedness in tradition and his nods to modern life. They appreciate his compelling rhythms, melodies and efficient language. It’s real music that doesn’t shy away from what life is really all about.
Isbell got his start in the music history-steeped studios of Muscle Shoals, Alabama. His music reflects his roots, and that has won him quite a bit of critical acclaim. He is undeniably the king of Americana music having cleaned up at the recent 2018 Americana Music Awards in addition to his Grammy wins.
But his awards are just a small indication of what matters most. Isbell’s diehard fans turn out in earnest when there’s a chance to hear Isbell perform. And West Tennessee fans didn’t wait around when they heard that Isbell was scheduled to play at The Dixie. With sold out shows across the world, including six sold-out shows at the Ryman in October, The Dixie is honored to have been personally chosen by Jason for an intimate acoustic show.
