Dresden, Tenn.—A man wanted for criminal attempt to commit homicide turned himself in to Weakley Co. Sheriff Department Chief Deputy Mark Black Monday.
Jeffrey Neil Story, age 41, turned himself in at the home of Chief Deputy Black after a search for Story earlier in the day.
Both Weakley and Gibson Co. deputies searched a house on Twin Creek Rd. south of Bradford earlier Monday, looking for Story. At that time, Geoffrey and Ashley Akers were arrested by Gibson Co. deputies for allowing Story to live at their house knowing police were looking for him. Both were charged with being an accessory after the fact.
The attempted homicide charge against Story involves a shooting incident at his home on West Mitchell Rd. on the south end of Weakley Co. on October 12. Ricky Lynn Gilbert of Lexington already was picked up on that charge.
Both men will appear for their preliminary hearing Dec. 19.
