Buchanan, Tenn.–The Paris Landing State Park raptor rehabilitation program will be releasing an adult Great Horned Owl back to the wild at 1 p.m. Saturday. The public is invited to the release, which will be held at the golf course.
The raptor rehabilitation program takes in injured birds of prey and helps them back to health, and when they are ready, they release them back to the wild.
The state park’s golf course is a Certified Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary, and it provides abundant habitat for native species. All types of birds are a regular sight there, including bald eagles, hawks, and owls.
