Bethel Cheer Team Aids Operation Christmas Child

MCKENZIE, Tenn. – For the fourth straight year the Bethel University cheer team assembled boxes for Operation Christmas Child.  The effort was in conjunction with the NAIA Champions of Character Initiative. The squad assembled 38 boxes.
From children to seniors, people pack shoebox gifts each year to bless children in need around the world.  The annual drive is sponsored by Samaritans Purse.
Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ. The organization serves the Church worldwide to promote the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Coach Leigh Carr said, “I love seeing my kids excel in their sport, but to see them excel in kindness and compassion….it doesn’t get much better than that. I am incredibly proud of them and the love they put into this project.”
