Fugitive Caught By Same Officer Involved In Earlier Fiery Pursuit

By Shannon McFarlin WENK/WTPR News Director
Paris, Tenn.—A Buchanan woman was arrested on warrants stemming from a wild pursuit in September that resulted in her crashing her car into a tree and running from the accident scene with her passenger. The car burst into flames, destroying the car.
Lacey Day, age 20, of 5520 Rabbit Creek Rd., was arrested by Henry Co. Sheriff’s Lt. Lance Perry, the same officer who had pursued her previously and had issued the warrants against her.
Bond for Day was set at $80,000.
In the new incident, Perry spotted Day walking into a grocery store on Hwy. 79N.  Perry went into the store and placed Day under arrest.
Michael McBee, age 40, of 675 Buchanan Rd., also was arrested on a charge of accessory after the fact.
The car that McBee and Day were in was searched and inventoried and items found inside included a pistol, marijuana, meth, a knife, hypodermic needle and other items. Perry also said it was determined that the car did not belong to either Day or McBee.
In all, Day is charged with reckless endangerment, evading arrest, and driving on a suspended license, along with drug and firearm charges. McBee also is charged with drug and firearm charges. His bond is $40,000.
