Grand Rivers, Ky.–A local light show will be competing for The Great Christmas Light Fight, which will be broadcast on ABC beginning November 26.
Patti’s 1880’s Settlement in Grand Rivers, Kentucky, has been known for its incredible Christmas light display for many years—and is continuing that tradition despite a devastating fire that destroyed the popular restaurant in February.
Patti’s is competing for a $50,000 prize against three other major light displays in a new heavyweight division on the show. The episode featuring Patti’s will be aired at 7 p.m. December 3.
Since the fire, Patti’s has rebuilt and its owners say it’s even better than ever, with all the features that made Patti’s a destination, plus new features.
The owners at Patti’s have had to keep their participation in the show a secret for a year. Patti’s Spokeswoman Ann Martin said the filming for the story occurred last November 27 in secret. “An experience we will never forget. Four full days filming from 1 to 2 a.m. each day in record cold temperatures. Getting to know the wonderful production crew, who fell in love with Patti’s and left knowing, what we have always known, Patti’s 1880’s Settlement is truly a magical place.”
