Union City, Tenn.—A Dresden woman was transported to the hospital and a Union City woman was cited following a two-car accident in Union City Friday.
Passenger Corey Williams, age 30, was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City by the local EMS unit. She was a passenger in a car driven by Joan Turnbow, age 37, also of Dresden.
Martha Pigg, age 26, was cited for failure to yield after the accident which occurred around 1:15 p.m. Friday at the intersection of E. Reelfoot Ave and Pleasant Valley Ave.
Pigg told officers she was attempting to turn left off of Pleasant Valley and that another vehicle crashed into her when she pulled out. She said she looked before attempting the turn but didn’t see the other vehicle. Turnbow said Pigg’s vehicle pulled out in front of her and she could not stop.
