Reelfoot Rural Ministries Accepting Donations For 2018 Toy Store

Obion, Tenn.–Reelfoot Rural Ministries is getting ready for its 2018 Christmas Toy Store and is now looking for prayer, as well as donations of toys, money and volunteer time.
A ministry of the Memphis Conference of the United Methodist Church, RRM serves people in need within four counties: Lake, Obion and Dyer counties in Tennessee and Fulton County in Kentucky.
Executive Director Robert Craig said, “Last year was another successful Toy Store and we trust that this year will be no different.  Reelfoot Rural Ministries assisted 540 families with Christmas gifts for their children through the 2017 Toy Store.  In all, 1300 children had a brighter and more joyful Christmas last year thanks in large part to our donors and volunteers.  Our hope is to touch hundreds more lives in 2018 by approving 650 families to shop.”
The dates for the Toy Store are December 3rd thru December 6th.   In addition to the actual Toy Store during the first week of December, volunteers are desperately needed during the week of November 26th thru November 30th to help transform our ministry center, dormitory, and parking lot into a grace-filled and hope-filled Christmas shopping center.

Donations are greatly needed in the form of toys and monetary gifts.   Reelfoot Rural Ministries is open to receive donations Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.  Saturday December 1st is the final set up day for the Toy Store.  That is also the day designated as the deadline for toy donations.  They can receive donations until noon on that day.
We need dozens of volunteers to help make the Toy Store successful.  This ministry event will serve approximately 650 families in just four days. Reelfoot Rural Ministries does not have enough staff to make this ministry happen without vital volunteers like you.
