Ribbon-Cutting Officially Opens Area Second Harvest Distribution Center

Camden, Tenn.–Chamber executives, state and elected officials, donors, volunteers and community members from across the region gathered at the Western Branch of Second Harvest Food Bank in Camden, Tennessee today for a ribbon-cutting officially opening a distribution center there. By expanding their capacity and restructuring distribution patterns, the new 25,800 square foot facility will allow Second Harvest to better serve over 44,000 needy individuals located in the 14-county service area.

According to the 2016-2017 Second Harvest Food Bank Annual Report, the company served 283,077 meals in Henry County through their five partner agencies.  Of the 6,420 individuals that benefited from the services, 4,820 were adults and 1,600 were children.

“We are very fortunate to have this facility in our region,” Paris-Henry Co. Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Travis McLeese said. “Second Harvest plays a major role in serving the hungry in our community and has for years.”
