Paris, Tenn.—A Big Sandy driver escaped serious injury but her car was destroyed by fire in an accident Sunday night on India Road in Paris.
The Paris Fire Department was called to the scene around 7:30 p.m. and found the vehicle already on fire with heavy smoke visible.
Jacqueline Pierpont was driving on India Rd. and dodged a deer and in the process, drove off the road and the vehicle ignited. Firefighters extinguished the fire to the 2003 Mustang, but it was a total loss.
Henry Co. EMS was at the scene and evaluated the driver, but she did not require transportation to the hospital. Several Henry Co. Sheriff’s deputies also were on the scene.
