Chilly Weather Doesn't Dampen Patriotic Spirits At Veterans' Parade

Paris, Tenn.–It was the coldest Veterans’ Day parade in Paris, by far, but that did not put a damper on the patriotic spirit for the 35-40 entries or the spectators who applauded and cheered on Saturday morning. Organizer Ann Smith said, “I feel it went great. It was hard work, but long hours paid off. We did our lineup different this year and made things a lot easier. Everything went great.”  Grand Marshal Glen Theron Hastings, a WWII veteran from Mansfield, was driven through the parade route in a spiffy red Studebaker by Grant Norwood. In photos, a miniature Betsy Ross, Kinsley Gaut, marched the parade route with her mother, Ashley Gaut, and handed out candy to everyone; the Henry Co. Marching Patriots were bundled up this year; Tonya Nash, Kendra McCuiston and Charlotte McCuiston enjoy the parade. (Shannon McFarlin photos).
