Dresden, Tenn.—Three young Dresden men are in the Weakley Co. Jail tonight on charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault and evading arrest after they allegedly held another man captive in a shed and beat him.
Arrested are Christian James Allen, age 18, of Old Latham Rd.; Trever James Bradberry, age 18 of 3430 Sharon Hwy. 89; and Cody Wayne Brown, age 18, of Oakdale Street. Allen was out of jail on bond at the time following another incident in September in which he fired a gun toward someone.
Weakley Co. Sheriff Captain Randall McGowan said a motorist was flagged down by a man on Hwy. 89 between Dresden and Sharon around 7:30 a.m. Friday by an injured 19 year old, who was then transported to Volunteer Hospital in Martin with head trauma.
Investigators obtained a search warrant for a residence on Hwy. 89 and found evidence that the man had been taken to a shed on the property and been held against his will. McGowan said the victim was tied to a chair with zip ties, his eyes covered with tape and a bag placed over his head.
He was then hit in the head with what is believed to be a wooden table leg. The three then left the man there and drove off. The victim was able to get a lighter from his pants and burn through the zip ties and escaped by kicking tin off of the shed.
While deputies were at the scene waiting on the search warrant, the three suspects drove back to the residence. When they saw the deputies, they fled and deputies chased them through backroads south of Martin. The three finally stopped on Hilltop Rd. While searching the residence, deputies also found marijuana, baggies and digital scales.
