By Shannon McFarlin WENK/WTPR News Director
Dover, Tenn.—As part of Sheriff Frankie Gray’s strategy and beginning efforts to attack the drug problem in the county, a search of Stewart Co. High School was conducted Thursday morning.
Part of the contingent conducting the search were officers and their K9s from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Paris Police and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers included Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy Terry Williams and his K9 Droid, Deputy Ricky Wade and his K9 Stormy, and from the Paris Police Department were Lt. Michael Ramos and Kenzee and Sgt. Jamie James and Drago.
According to Stewart Co. Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Paulette Redman, the school and parking lot were searched. The searches were conducted in a manner to cause the least possible disruption to the students and their learning environment.
Sheriff Gray said similar searches will be conducted in the future as part of his department’s commitment to help keep children and young adults safer and keep drugs out of the schools.
