MCKENZIE, Tenn. –The Bethel University Athletic Department is sending its sincere condolences and prayers to the Octavian Burrell family. According to former teammate Dalton Turnbow, Octavian passed away after being involved in a car accident.
Burrell played two football season for the Wildcats. The running back from Shelbyville High School in St. Augustine, Texas played in the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
He appeared in ten games in 2016 scoring four touchdowns and rushing for 305 yards. He scored one touchdown in 2016.
Turnbow commented, “We came to Bethel together as freshman. He was a great player who had a big heart and even better determination. He will be missed and will always be a Wildcat.”
Former Bethel Assistant Coach Alan Hollowell said, “Our prayers go out to Octavian’s family. He was a wonderful player for us at Bethel. It is such a tragedy with a young life cut short. Thanks for the memories Octavian.”
