Weakley County, Tenn.—A Dukedom man has been arrested by Weakley Co. Sheriff’s Deputies with running over a Dresden woman and leaving her seriously injured in the road. The passenger in his car is still being sought.
Thomas Joseph Koker Jr., age 48, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Deputies are still looking for Tristan Ezell, who was the passenger in the car Koker was driving. Captain Randall McGowan said investigators believe the victim was run over on purpose and that the pair knew she was injured and left the scene.
The incident occurred on October 22 near 431 Ralston Road and the resident at that address heard a loud crash and came outside to investigate, finding the victim in the road, McGowan said told WENK/WTPR.
The victim suffered serious injuries to her head, arms and legs, McGowan said and was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center. McGowan said the victim has been released from the hospital and is still being rehabilitated for her injuries.
Koker was arrested Friday at his residence on Austin Springs Rd. near Dukedom.
A warrant has been issued for Ezell’s arrest. Anyone with information on her location, contact investigators at the Weakley Co. Sheriff’s Office at 731 364 5454.
