Murray State To Present "25th Annual Putnam Co. Spelling Bee"

MURRAY, Ky. — The Murray State University Department of Global Languages & Theatre Arts presents “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” with performances Nov. 15–18.
The show will be presented in the Robert E. Johnson Theatre in the Price Doyle Fine Arts Building. Shows run Nov. 15–17 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 18 at 2:30 p.m. The cost is $21 (plus tax) per ticket for general admission seating and $19 (plus tax) for Murray State employees, non-Murray State students and AARP members. Murray State students are free with their student IDs.
“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” was conceived by Rebecca Feldman with music and lyrics by William Finn, book by Rachel Sheinkin and additional material by Jay Reiss. It is a musical comedy about high school students and their hopes, dreams and angst as they compete for a spot in the National Spelling Bee. Overseen by adults still stuck in adolescence themselves, the students sing their stories, utilize unique spelling techniques and learn that losing doesn’t necessarily make them losers.
