Banquet Concludes Union City High School Volleyball Season

Union City, Tenn.–First-year head coach Jodi Powell honored her Union City High School volleyball team with a season-ending banquet earlier this week in the high school commons area.
Among those receiving individual awards (plaques and medals) were:

Tornado Award & All District Award – Sanaa Davis
MVP, All District Award, & All District Tournament Award – Endia Dowell
Best Defensive Planer & Academic Award – Aleigha Beth Keeling

Will replace Little Twisters
There will no longer be a Little Twister Basketball League, but plans are for both the boys and girls to have two squads that will play teams from other schools.
There will be tryouts for a 3^rd-4^th grade boys’ team and a 5^th-6^th grade boys’ team Saturday at the high school gymnasium.
The 3^rd-4^th grade tryout will be held from 10-11 a.m., while the 5^th-6^th grade tryout will be held from 11 until noon.
The girls will have tryouts/practice Tuesday night from 6:30-7:30 at the Union City Elementary School gymnasium.
The session will be for both a 3^rd-4^th grade team and a 5^th-6^th grade team.
