Indianapolis, Ind.—To say that the Paris Future Farmers of America had a successful week at the 91st annual National FFA Convention in Indianapolis would be an understatement.
Murray Perkins came home as national winner, with three other local students also coming home with impressive hardware.
Perkins won the title as National Proficiency Winner and 5th place in Employment Skills. Rick Conroy won National Proficiency Runner Up.
Hunter Goodman was 5th place in the nation in Agri-science, 15th in Forestry, and 24th in the nation in Veterinary Science.
Caroline Gurton was elected a National Delegate.
The entire Paris FFA chapter was named a National 3 Star Chapter, which is the highest designation a chapter can receive. This is the fifth time in the last six years that the Paris FFA has earned that designation.
Local Advisors Laura Moss and Ryan Inman said they were proud of the chapter members. Moss said, “This award for Murray has been the direct result of many hours, days and years of work by him and his family. Murray has continued to build upon the foundation laid by his father and sisters to carve his place in Paris FFA history.”
Inman said, “The success of our members at this year’s National FFA convention speaks to the hard work and determination that each one of them has put into studying and becoming competitive on both the state and national levels. We are so proud of each and every one of our Paris FFA members.”
