Oakland Fire Department To Install Free Smoke Alarms

Paris, Tenn.–The Oakland Volunteer Fire Department will be installing free fire alarms for residents of the Oakland fire district as part of the State Fire Marshal’s Get Alarmed program.
Lt. Chuck Asher said department officials will be at the Oakland Fire Station from 12-7 p.m. Friday, November 2, to take names and addresses of residents who want a smoke alarm installed.
Asher said the department presently has 60 smoke alarms and can order more.
He also said smoke alarms for the hearing and sight impaired are available. “If people let us know they need those, we can special order them and then install for them,” he said.
The fire station is located at 4435 Hwy. 69S. You can call them at 731 644 0502.
