By Shannon McFarlin WENK/WTPR News Director
Paris, Tenn.—A three-day music festival will be held at Paris Landing State Park next summer, sponsored by our sister station and the Paris-Henry Co. Chamber of Commerce.
Jared Mims, Executive Vice President of Operations for Forever Communications, said Wednesday morning, “We are thrilled to be working directly with the Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce on this wonderful event as we are committed to serving Henry Co. and the surrounding areas. Our goal is to assist in producing a great weekend of entertainment that will continue for years to come, making this event an annual destination for families from across the region.”
Major sponsor for the event is Froggy 103.7, one of the sister stations for WENK/WTPR.
The Henry County Tourism Authority has been working to solidify plans for the event, which will be held over three days in June at three different venues in Henry Co.
The portion of the event sponsored by Froggy is in negotiations with a major artist and will be held on June 29 at the Paris Landing State Park Amphitheater.
Other musicians will be performing at The Breakers Marina in Buchanan and Fat Daddy’s Resort between Buchanan and Dover in Stewart Co.
Mims stressed that plans for the event are still being worked on and more information on the event will be announced later.
The Henry Co. Tourism Authority voted to provide $35,000 in local funding for the festival, which will be used to help secure musical acts and for advertising for the event.
