Henry, Tenn.—Working smoke alarms played a huge role in saving a family and their home Monday evening.
Henry Volunteer Fire Department units were dispatched to 1350 Macedonia Rd. and when arriving on the scene, firefighters found a mobile home with smoke coming from the doors.
Firefighters made entry and extinguished what was determined to be a utility area within the home that was on fire. The cause was found to be an electrical problem in the dryer and damage was contained mostly to the utility area and appliances.
The fire alarms in the home “played a huge factor in early detection of the fire and also allowed the family to exit unharmed,” according to a department spokesman.
