Gatlinburg, Tenn.—U.S. Marshals have arrested the former president of USA Gymnastics in a cabin in Gatlinburg.
Steve Penny was taken into custody and booked into the Sevier Co. Jail at 8:02 p.m. Wednesday on a fugitive charge.
Penny is accused of removing documents related to the Larry Nassar sexual abuse case that has rocked USA Gymnastics over the past year. Penny is alleged to have taken the documents from the Karoli Ranch training center in Texas.
U.S. Marshals tracked him to the cabin in Gatlingburg after he was indicted by a grand jury in Texas. He will remain in the Sevier Co. Jail awaiting extradition to Walker Co., Texas.
