Union City, Tenn.—A Springville driver was cited after a trailer loaded with corn that he was driving collided with the back of a vehicle driven by a Union City woman causing minor injuries to her passengers.
Sandy Minnis, age 57, was cited for following too closely, lack of insurance and lack of registration after the accident which occurred Tuesday afternoon.
Union City Police were dispatched to the accident at Everett and Reelfoot Ave. around 1:30 p.m.
Eddye Draper, age 52, of Union City, said she was attempting to turn from Everett onto W. Reelfoot and stopped for traffic, waiting to merge when she heard tires squealing. At that point, she said the truck behind her crashed into her vehicle.
Minnis’ truck is owned by Chris Shankle of Paris and was fully loaded with corn.
Three passengers in Draper’s vehicle complained of minor neck pain and headaches following the collision.
