Paris, Tenn.–Henry County Youth Leadership kicked off its 2018-2019 program today at Covenant Ranch in Paris. Twenty Juniors from Henry County High School were selected through an application process to participate in the eight-month leadership development program.
“Today we took the students to Covenant Ranch where they participated in a wide variety of character building exercises,” Travis McLeese, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce said. “Throughout this process our committee hopes to expose the students to opportunities and experiences that will motivate them to be leaders. It was an inspiring experience for me to see the light bulb turn on during some of these exercises.”
Other sessions will include touring manufacturing facilities, learning about the arts and history in our community, learning about healthcare, and meeting with community and government leaders.
The committee is chaired by Henry Co. Schools Curriculum Supervisor Betsy Allison. Other committee members include Jennifer Starks and Jennifer Patterson. In addition to numerous sponsors, this program is possible through a partnership with The Inspector, a locally owned residential and commercial inspection company.
