Erin, Tenn.—Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency official Nick Luper along with Erin Police Chief Mark Moore saved a deer that was trapped in a homeowner’s pool over the weekend. They responded to the call on Kent Bell Lane and found the deer trapped at the bottom of the pool and unable to climb back out. There was water on the bottom of the pool, but the main problem was the deer could not climb up the sides of the pool.
Luper was able to throw a rope around the deer’s neck and guide it up the side of the pool. He then took hold of the deer, removed the rope and set it free.
