Paris, Tenn.—Everything appears in order at the Henry County Elections Commission for the coming November 6 election.
At a late Thursday afternoon meeting, commissioners and political party representatives reviewed the election machine tally tapes and applied seals to the voting machines in preparation for the busy Election Day coming.
Elections Administrator DeLaina Green explained that Henry Co. Democratic Party representative Bob Hehn and Republican Party representative Sam Camp had conducted a test of all 56 voting machines earlier in the day. A test run of all of the machines produced tally sheets which were later inspected through the afternoon by Democratic Party President River Byrd and an Independent candidate for the Henry Aldermen board. Invitations were sent to Independent candidates and party representatives by the elections commission.
Green noted that the tests performed on the machines by Hehn and Camp were done without any glitches.
At the commission meeting which followed, board members also inspected the tally sheets and sealed the voting machines.
Poll worker training will be held from Oct. 22-26 and early voting is from October 17-November 1.
