By Shannon McFarlin WENK/WTPR News Director
Paris, Tenn.—A driver who may have been experiencing a medical emergency Thursday afternoon drove through the Henry County Courthouse lawn, destroying two of the park benches and one crape myrtle on the court square, then drove across the street and ran into the front of three businesses.

The Paris Police report was not completed at press time, but witnesses said the driver was westbound on Wood Street when he jumped the curb at the Wood/Poplar St. side of the courthouse, then made a wide loop through the courthouse lawn, toppling the picnic tables and trees before heading across the street.
Once across the street, he drove his car into another car and then into The Iron Place, the former Mark Johnson Insurance Agency and the Commercial Bank and Trust Trust Department building, damaging all three buildings.
The ambulance was called and treated him at the scene and transported him to the hospital.
The accident reportedly occurred around 4:30 p.m.
More details will be published when the police report is complete.
