Wallace Again On Move After Man Shot And Killed, Truck Stolen

Stewart County, Tenn.–A man was found dead in Stewart Co. this morning and his truck stolen and law enforcement is reinforcing its efforts to find suspect Kirby Wallace, who already is wanted for one homicide, injuries to two others, and arson in two home invasions.

Stewart County Sheriff Frankie Gray told the media this morning that a man was found dead at the corner of Poplar Springs Road and Welker Rd. around 9:45 a.m. today. His identity has not yet been released.

The man’s truck was stolen but has since been recovered.

Wallace was seen driving the truck on Cumberland City Road. The truck was recovered around 10:50 a.m. and the TBI now believes Wallace is on foot in the area of Cumberland City Road and Frankie Road. It is believed now that Wallace is wearing camouflage.

Law enforcement from the area have been involved in a 24-hour-a-day manhunt for Wallace since last Sunday when he killed Brenda Smith and injured her husband during a home invasion in Indian Mound. Wallace then set their house on fire. Since then a second home invasion in Montgomery Co. resulted in injuries to an elderly woman. In both cases, he stole their vehicles.

If anyone sees Wallace they are to call 911 immediately.
