Union City, Tenn.—A Union City driver was transported to the hospital and cited for driving violations following a two-car accident which occurred Sunday.
Nakeia Smith, age 26, was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City and cited for improper turn and suspended license. Her three-year-old daughter was not injured in the accident. Both were wearing their restraints. According to the police report, Smith is pregnant and was seen at the scene by medical personnel before being transported.
According to the report, a vehicle driven by Hunter Hamlin, age 18, of Union city, had pulled up to the stop sign at N. Jernigan Dr. and Smith was heading east on East Main and started to turn left, but turned too short, crashing into the front of Hamlin’s vehicle. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Hamlin and his passenger were not injured.
