Three Charged In Memphis Chamber CEO's Death

Memphis, Tenn.—Three people have been charged by Memphis Police with the murder of Greater Memphis Chamber CEO Phil Trenary. Trenary was shot Thursday evening near South Front Street in downtown Memphis.
The Memphis Police Department tweeted the following message late Saturday night:
 
“McKinney Wright Jr. 22, Quandarius Richardson 18, and Racanisha Wright 16, have been charged with First Degree Murder in perpetration of Criminal Attempt Robbery and Criminal Attempt Especially Aggravated Robbery in connection with the murder of Phillip Trenary.”
 
According to affidavits in the case, Richardson told police he and the other two were trying to rob Trenary. The suspects reportedly then stole a truck and led police on a pursuit after Trenary was killed. The suspects told police they had talked about possible robbery targets as they drove around downtown.
 
Bystanders tried to help Trenary before he was transported to Regional One Hospital where he died.
