Indian Mound, Tenn.—Henry Co. Sheriff’s Deputy Sgt. Wayne Fuqua and his K9 Cisco are among those involved in the search for homicide suspect Kirby Wallace in Stewart County today.
Wallace is wanted for the recent home invasions in Stewart and Montgomery Counties which resulted in the homicide of one of his victims, Brenda Smith, and injuries to two other victims.
Fuqua and his bloodhound Cisco were among those tracking Wallace, who crashed his car earlier today in the Indian Mound area (near where the first home invasion occurred) and set out on foot in the area of Honey Fork Rd. and Seven Mile Ridge Road.
According to earlier reports by Stewart Co. Sheriff Public Information Officer Paulette Redmon, Wallace was last seen wearing blue jeans with a dark blue or gray jacket.
Law enforcement from several counties have been searching all day for Wallace, going door to door in that area.
Sheriff Frankie Gray said the search will continue overnight.
Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew said Fuqua and Cisco are already back home after an unsuccessful day. The team of Fuqua and Cisco have been responsible for many other rescues over recent years.
Gray has been cautioning the public to stay away from the area and if you have family, please call and check on them. If you are unable to reach them, call 911 so that the deputies can conduct a welfare check on your family member.
Wallace is considered armed and dangerous and is wanted on charges of First Degree Murder, felony murder, attempted murder, aggravated arson, especially aggravated kidnapping, especially aggravated robbery and especially aggravated burglary.
