Buchanan, Tenn.–The Bomb Squad has arrived at the Security Bank branch on Hwy. 79N, where a suspicious package was found earlier this morning. The Bomb Squad was escorted by Henry County sheriff’s cruisers to the scene around 11 a.m. The Bomb Squad is from Jackson. The FBI is also on the way to the scene.
The suspicious package was found earlier this morning by an employee when they were opening up the branch.
Henry Co. Sheriff Monte Belew is on the scene and the entire mall area where the bank is located has been secured.
A heavy presence of law enforcement is on the scene, including the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Chief Deputy Damon Lowe told WENK/WTPR earlier this morning that the bank will remain closed until the area is cleared by the bomb squad.
The bank branch is located on Hwy. 79N.
