Eagle Creek Substation, BPU Office Renovations Progressing Well

Paris, Tenn.—The new Eagle Creek Substation project is progressing well, with work being performed by Paris Board of Public Utilities (BPU) employees.
Director of Electric Operations Cole Edwards told the board at its Tuesday morning meeting that all the poles have been set for the project and 50 percent of the wiring has been completed. BPU General Manager Terry Wimberley said, “It looks like we’re going to beat the bad weather. The guys are really taking pride in the project and it’s been very well done by our crew.”
Ongoing renovations to the BPU headquarters on E. Washington Street are moving along well, also, Wimberley said.
Renovations to the main floor of the building are being performed by Allen Searcy Builders of Union City. The improvements will allow for better security, better use of office space and customer service. While renovations have been ongoing, a customer service center has been set up across the street.
Wimberley said, “It’s really going well. I was looking at the work calendar and they have nothing left to be completed after October 31. Things are happening extremely fast.”
That project seems on target to be completed by the Dec. 1 date, he said.
