Paris, Tenn.–“Scarecrows on the Square” is ready for its third year on the Henry County court square. Downtown Paris Association Executive Director Kathy Ray said the annual event adds a festive, seasonal look to the downtown court square.
Application forms are available now at the DPA office at 203 N. Fentress St. or online at www.VisitDowntownParis.com.
Ray said, “We encourage you to be environmentally conscious and recycle items to fit with the theme of your group, school, or business. Use a theme and name that fits your group’s personality or celebrate Paris history with a historic Paris figure.”
Committee Chair Carly Wheat said, “Scarecrows will be judged the second week of October. Scarecrows will be judged on originality, construction, and presentation. Cash prizes will be awarded for People’s Choice, Most Original, Best Constructed, and Best in Show. Winners will be announced on October 20th at Spooktacular.”
Bring your completed form to the DPA office, fax it to 731-642-6222, or email it to downtownparis@outlook.com by October 1st.
Set up days will be Tuesday, October 2nd through Friday, October 5th between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. by appointment only. Please call the DPA office at 731-653-7274 or Carly Wheat at 901-493-4065 to schedule a time to set up your scarecrow in its designated location on the Square. You may remove your Scarecrow beginning October 30th with all scarecrows removed by October 31st.
