Indian Mound, Tenn.—The congregation of Indian Mound United Methodist Church is inviting the community, friends, and family of Sunday’s shootings to a prayer vigil tonight, Sept. 24.
The vigil is set from 5-8 p.m. at the church as everyone prays for the Smith/Turner families. Service will be come and go as needed with a small devotion at the top of each hour.
The church is located at 200 Rorie Hollow Rd., Indian Mound.
Stewart Co. Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Paulette Redmon told WENK/WTPR this morning the department is still seeking the suspect in Sunday’s shootings which killed one victim and injured another.
As we reported Sunday, the victims surprised the suspect while he was in the process of burglarizing their home on Rorie Hollow Rd. After he shot the victims, he set fire to their home.
Authorities are searching for a suspect described as a white man, 5’6” to 5’7” tall with thinning hair. Police are on the lookout for a 2005 black Chrysler 300 with Tennessee tag 477-MBC.
